The total via the portal was $212, that’s $156 due at booking and $55 at pick up. Well, after returning the vehicle, I was charged an additional $105 by Hertz for “CONCESSION FEE RECOVERY,” “CUSTOMER FACILITY CHARGE,” and “TAX”. After contacting Capital One and Hertz, I was told that additional taxes and fees … Hertz Scam? Hey folks, I’m wondering if there’s any known scams out there for car rental companies? Sending out a letter a month after you returned a rental. How is Hertz, renting from a major airport? Hi. I travel a lot, and rent a lot of cars, mostly via Avis, Alamo & National, as they provide a better rental experience, in my opinion. It’s been a while since I rented from Hertz, so I don’t remember the experience so much. All rental car companies have very similar base model cars, so it’s not like Hertz’s selection is any different. If you want better selection, try to rent from one of their Ultimate Choice locations. I can only speak for Hertz. I booked with them because I was a Hertz regular, but in reality the Hertz in Costa Rica is pretty much a separate company leasing the brand. You get no points from the rental, and the cost is pretty much twice what the website quotes after fees and insurance. The facility is offsite and requires a shuttle ride. Rental Car: if I’m returning on a day they’re closed, can I return it at any time? At non-airport Hertz in the US, I’m renting a car and set the return date for Sunday at 7:30am. They’re closed on Sunday and the worker helping me simply said to drop off the keys in their after hours box. Do you think I’d be fine to keep it until Sunday night? My question is, where are you seeing a Ford Focus for rent? It went out of production six years ago. Not even Hertz runs its fleet into the ground like that. For long-distance highway work, don’t get the smallest thing possible. You’ll be miserable and feel cramped and unsafe and at the mercy of big trucks. Intermediate (C class) or standard (D class) at a minimum. Mine was a one-way rental so in my case it was just the car they wanted to go to the other location. Hertz btw. Which car rental agency at OGG is the most efficient ? I currently am booked with Hertz but I am getting the same rates with Dollar, Thrifty, Budget and Payless. Which car rental is usually the fastest? The last year we used Hertz and despite having a gold membership, we still had to wait in line. Should we stick with Hertz or switch?
